Gynecologic Endocrine conditions
Women coping with infertility and other Gynecologic Endocrine conditions
will find a full range of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility
services at Long Island College Hospital.
Our experts oversee a highly sophisticated program that utilizes the
most up-to-date techniques for diagnosing and treating these conditions.
Infertility
We offer women state-of-the-art options for maximizing their chances of
achieving a successful pregnancy. These include:
- In Vitro Fertilization-Embryo Transfer (IVF-ET)
- a process in which an egg is fertilized in the laboratory and the
resulting embryo is transferred into the uterus. This program is operated
in partnership with St.
Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, a fellow member of the Continuum
Health Partners System.
- Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer (GIFT) - a procedure
in which fertilization takes place in the fallopian tube.
- Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer (ZIFT) - a process
by which an egg fertilized in the lab is transferred into the fallopian
tube.
- Intrauterine insemination - as part of this procedure,
sperm “washing” techniques are used to concentrate motile
sperm and prepare them for placement in the uterus.
- Superovulation - use of injectable medications to
spur release of multiple eggs.
- Ovulation induction - stimulating ovulation through
the use of oral medications.
- Donor insemination - LICH maintains a New York State
license for inseminations, and also provides donor inseminations through
licensed sperm banks.
- Egg donation - offered in combination with our IVF
program.
Infertility treatments are available to married and single women, and
are provided with absolute respect for the couple’s sensitivities
and religious beliefs.
