Summary:

A Randomized, Controlled Multicenter Trail of Vacuum Assited Closure Therapy in the Treatment and Blinded Evaluation of Diabetic Foot Ulcers

Study Arms

• Standard moist wound care
• VAC

Paitent will come in for wound tracing and photography at regular scheduled intervals
(Week 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 and 2 follow-up visits)

Eligibility:

• Calcaneal, dorsals or planter diabetic foot ulcer > 2cm
• HbA1c < 12%
• ABI >= 0.7 and =< 1.2
• No VAC therapy within 30 days of enrollment

Benefits and/or Compensation:
Compensation for transportation is provided for each regularly scheduled study visit. Standard moist wound care dressing and VAC Freedom/VAC supplies are provided.
